Wellon began his practice in 1987 as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Oklahoma.  Wellon served the State of Oklahoma as an Assistant Attorney General from 1987 through 2005.  Wellon continued serving the State of Oklahoma as General Counsel for the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety from 2005 through 2011. 

Wellon joined Collins, Zorn & Wagner, P.C. in 2011.
